Michael is a founder, writer, and community builder obsessed with how ideas spread through stories, people and products.
Michael started Truth Cartel in 2017 to help emerging technology companies shape belief and drive adoption, and has since served more than 50 clients, helped raise over $600M, and worked with some of the most respected companies in fintech and Web3.
Michael led marketing for TrueFi, DeFi’s first unsecured lending protocol now with $2 billion in private credit originations; TUSD, a top 5 stablecoin; Paxful, the world’s largest peer-to-peer market with operations in 140 countries - and now mentors and invests in startups at dLab, HF0, and IndieBio.
Before blockchain, Michael built Startup Grind’s media arm to 1.5M monthly readers as Editor in Chief; led an SOS Ventures-backed startup in China and Hong Kong; and published two books on life and work in Asia.
He’s written for Fortune, Inc and Bankless exploring how technology influences behavior, spoken at Collision Conf and Startup Grind Global on Web3 and marketing, and runs Medium’s biggest blockchain publication, The Crypto.

Luke Kim is a business developer, educator, and PR strategist focused on how people build conviction, leverage, and momentum in global markets. He works with founders and executives to turn strategy into systems - helping companies go from insight to adoption with speed and clarity.
Luke is a faculty member at the UC Berkeley College of Engineering, where he built the university's first solopreneurship curriculum. Before that, he served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Alchemist Accelerator, creating strategic projects and portfolio-level impact. He also co-founded and managed Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator, the first of its kind under UC Berkeley's Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, supporting 100+ teams that raised $620M+ in follow-on capital. As one of the first blockchain protocol CMOs in the world, Luke launched two crypto-assets from scratch, building the ecosystem to $200M+ market cap and $300M+ peak daily volume on multiple occasions. While in this role, he also co-founded the first public finance crypto project in the world with the City of Syracuse, co-authoring a white paper with the Mayor’s Office of Syracuse to develop 1) smart contract micro-bonds and 2) municipal utility tokens.
A two-time founder and three-time CMO, Luke has been a CEO through an active M&A process, run marketing across 15+ countries with 80+ teammates, and helped companies go from zero to scale in markets where timing and trust matter more than budget. He is a member of RaidGuild, a leading Web3 developer collective and DAO, and a columnist at Times of India. He also founded and ran Startup Grind Berkeley, building a 600+ entrepreneur community in Silicon Valley. He currently volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem, supporting children in the court system.
Luke has organized hackathons and programs at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, UC Berkeley SkyDeck, and the CITRIS Banatao Institute. He regularly works with the governments of Korea and Japan to help top local startups break into North American markets - designing acceleration programs, running go-to-market engagements, and plugging founders into the networks and infrastructure they need to get real traction abroad.
Raised between Tokyo and Seoul, Luke has lived and worked in Tallinn, Nice, Lisbon, Geneva, California, and Miami.
